Mandatory and Crucial Steps in any Web Design Plan

If you’re going to have a web site, you have to have at least a Domain and Hosting account.

The domain is name of your web site, be it YOURNAME.com, YOURNAME.org, YOURNAME.net… the ending “suffix” list goes on. The Hosting account refers to the online computer (or server) where your web site is parked- or hosted, allowing it to be accessible to folks online. The domain and hosting work together so that when someone types “YOURNAME.com”, the browser will know what to display.

You can have more than one domain all “pointing” to one hosting account. Some Search Engine Optimization folks preach buying multiple domains related to your business… for example, if your domain was SUPERCOOLPERSON.com, you might also get SUPERCOOLPERSON.net, SUPERPERSONCOOL.com, and maybe even a misspelling like SUPPERCOOLPERSON.com.
